One Piece: Roronoa Zoro’s Anime Swords

With the Wano arc finally coming to an end, One Piece has surely gripped us all. As fans of One Piece, we all are waiting for the Straw Hat crew to find One Piece and unravel all the mysteries. But there are a few other things on our minds: Roronoa Zoro. We’re sure many are head over heels for Zoro. We sure are. We anticipate many Zoro’s cosplayers this year with Halloween coming up. Yet, Zoro’s costume won’t be complete without his anime swords.

If you have actually paid attention to One Piece till now, you know that all swords under Kitetsu’s name are said to be cursed and this anime sword is to bring horrible death to all its owners. Sandai Kitetsu has a sharp edge, which makes it great for cutting. Zoro used this anime sword to test his luck by cutting his arm. He was warned by the previous owner, but he was adamant to use it. When Zoro swung the sword to cut his arm, Sandai Kitetsu passed right through. Seeing that, Zoro slashed it deep into the ground.

Zoro commented on Yubashiri being a ‘good katana’. It’s extremely light and relatively easy to use, allowing quick actions and reflexes, and it maintains the sharpness for cutting power. Yubashiri was used by Zoro in the santoryu and with the Sandai Kitetsu in the two-sword style. When this anime sword was destroyed, Zoro replaced it with Shusui.
